Overview: We are looking for a beginner-friendly Writer to join a fully remote team producing a high volume of daily news stories for local newsrooms. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone who loves following current events and wants to build writing experience from home.
Roles: Pitch, research, and write clear, concise news scripts. Cover a broad mix of stories, from politics and breaking news to entertainment. Write voice-over copy and short scripted segments, with training provided to help you grow into producing packages as needed. Work alongside other writers and producers to deliver stories on tight deadlines.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Full time, overnight hours.
Skills/background needed: No prior experience required and full training provided. A degree in journalism or a related field is helpful but not essential. You should have solid news judgment, strong writing, spelling, and grammar, good attention to detail, and a willingness to work overnight hours. An interest in current events and the ability to collaborate under deadlines will help you succeed.
