Podcast Research Assistant – Remote, No Experience Necessary

Roles: Podcast Research Assistant

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.

Contract length: Temporary

Location: Remote work worldwide (United States preferred)

We are looking for a curious, organised beginner to support the development of podcast episodes. This is a fully remote, work-from-home role with full training provided — no prior experience necessary. You will help production teams and hosts get ready for interviews, shape story ideas, and keep each episode accurate and well researched.

What you’ll do:

Background research on guests, topics, and story angles ahead of recordings. Prepare simple research briefs and interview prep notes for hosts and producers. Check episode content and flag anything inaccurate or missing. Suggest potential guests and expert sources. Keep research files organised in shared project systems. Work closely with producers to match each show’s direction. Stay aware of current news and cultural moments that could shape the editorial calendar.

Skills/background needed:

A willingness to learn research and fact-checking. Comfort working across many subjects and picking up new topics quickly. Clear, concise writing and strong attention to detail. Good judgement when handling sensitive material. Ability to juggle a few projects and meet deadlines. Familiarity with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Drive is helpful; exposure to Airtable is a bonus.

Bring your curiosity and organisation — we will train you on the rest.
