We are looking for a Science Content Writer to join our team and help make complex scientific ideas clear, accurate, and engaging for a wide audience. This is an entry-level, fully remote role with full training provided, so no prior professional experience is needed.
Roles:
Write and edit articles, explainers, and simple case studies that explain scientific topics clearly and honestly. Adapt the same core story into shorter and longer formats for different readers. Research topics carefully and work with subject experts to check facts. Help coordinate a small group of freelance writers by sharing briefs and feedback. Keep a simple editorial process running smoothly and make sure all content is accurate and well sourced. Lay out the content so it reads well and avoids hype or overclaims.
Skills/background needed:
A friendly, beginner-welcome attitude and a love of clear writing are the most important things. A background in science, journalism, or a related area is helpful but not required. You should be comfortable explaining technical ideas in plain language, open to learning new tools, and able to work independently from home. Familiarity with Google Docs and WordPress basic editing is a plus.
